Carl grew up at Agincourt Baptist where his father and grandparents were charter members and was baptized there when he was 13 years old. He has grown up in the CBOQ and has been involved in ministry most of his life serving in various roles such as choir member, VBS volunteer and Deacon and as a member of Agincourt, Whitby, Egerton, Walsh, Selkirk and First Tillsonburg Baptist churches.

 

Carl began vocational ministry at Selkirk Baptist Church where he began as the part-time Youth Pastor and then followed the call to become their full-time Lead Pastor. After serving there for 8 1/2 years, he followed a call to serve as the Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries at Tillsonburg First Baptist Church, where he served for 3 1/2 years. In May of 2016, Carl followed the call of God to become the Lead Pastor at Goshen Baptist Church. 

 

During this time Carl has also served as an Ordination Supervisor, as a Volunteer with Youth for Christ at the Upper Deck (Simcoe, Tillsonburg),  a member of the Tillsonburg Resource Network, and has served for several years with CBOQ as a "Slingshot" Supervisor for their "Blizzard" youth retreats.

Carl's passion is to: "...equip... the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ..." (Ephesians 4:12, NASB), but he also has a passion for leadership development - and frisbee!

Carl is blessed to be married to his terrific wife Beth (nee Kaye) and together they volunteer by spending a week every summer Directing at Camp Oneida, and he is equally blessed to be the father of two fantastic young adults - Will and Hannah!

 

On December 31, 2019, they welcomed an equally fantastic daughter in law, Hillary, into the family when she married Will! Carl and Beth became grandparents when Will and Hillary welcomed their first child - Lucas - in August of 2021!
